AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Vacancies for Graduate and Diploma Apprentices

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following conditions to be eligible:

  • Domicile: Candidates must be from Maharashtra (Nagpur/nearby area of Nagpur).
  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed Degree/Diploma on or after 01 April 2022. Candidates who have completed more than five years from the date of passing the qualifying examination as on the date of joining are not eligible. Students awaiting final year results can also apply, subject to qualifying.
  • Apprenticeship Status: Candidates who have already completed their apprenticeship, terminated it midway, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship with other organizations or AAI with the same qualification level are not eligible. Also, candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after obtaining essential qualifications are not eligible.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Apprentice: B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Degree in any stream with knowledge of computer and administrative work (for HR), or a Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Bachelor of Business Administration (for Finance).
  • Diploma Apprentice: Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • All qualifications must be from a recognized institute with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates).
  • For qualifications with CGPA/CGPI/CPI/SGPA, candidates must convert it to a percentage as per their institute's guidelines.

Age Limit

The age limit for apprentices is a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 26 years as on 31 July 2026.

  • Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST & PWD candidates.
  • Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates.
  • Candidates applying under OBC category must submit a Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate.
  • OBC candidates falling into the creamy layer are not eligible for OBC reservation benefits and should apply as UR candidates if they meet the age criteria for UR.

Stipend / Salary

  • Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 15,000/- per month.
  • Diploma Apprentice: Rs. 12,000/- per month.

The stipend payment includes a share from the Establishment and a share from the Government through BOAT, which will be credited directly to the apprentice's bank account.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and document verification. A certificate of medical fitness from a Gazetted Government Medical Officer or a Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking, and a police verification certificate will be required at the time of joining.

Candidates must apply online through the NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) portal. The steps are:

  1. Register as a student on the BOAT/NATS portal (type.php/student_register.php).
  2. After registration and verification by BOAT, apply for the AAI advertisement displayed on the dashboard.
  3. Applications received online through the NATS portal will only be considered.
