Job Profile and Responsibilities

The Legal Retainer will be engaged on a contract basis and will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Work at least 130 hours per month (minimum 16 days, minimum 4 days per week) at the Corporate Office.
  • Report to the Managing Director and liaise with Heads of Departments of BCPL.
  • Provide legal advice and opinions on service, labour, contractual, commercial, corporate, and statutory matters.
  • Draft, vet, and examine contracts, agreements, MoUs, tenders, affidavits, pleadings, notices, replies, and file Trade Mark and other legal documents.
  • Assist in handling litigation before Courts, Tribunals, Labour Courts, Arbitration Forums, and other statutory/quasi-judicial authorities.
  • Coordinate with advocates, counsels, law firms, and government authorities on legal matters.
  • Monitor court cases, maintain case status, and assist in legal strategy and compliance.
  • Examine legal implications of policy decisions and management proposals.
  • Undertake any other legal work assigned by the Competent Authority.
  • Remain available through telephone/email during working hours on all days.
