• You need this education for Paper-I (Secondary): You must have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject/subject group from a recognized university. You also need a B.Ed. (or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. Some relaxed norms (45% + B.Ed.) may apply as per NCTE Regulations 2002/2007.
• You need this education for Paper-II (Higher Secondary): You must have a Post-graduation degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject from a recognized university. You also need a B.Ed. (or equivalent) from an NCTE-recognized institution. Some relaxed norms (45% + B.Ed., or 55% + integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.) may apply.
• You must be this age: Your minimum age should be 21 years as on 01 August 2026. Maximum age limits vary by category: 37 years for Unreserved (Male), 40 years for Unreserved (Female), 40 years for Backward Class (Male/Female), 40 years for Extremely Backward Class (Male/Female), 42 years for SC (Male/Female), and 42 years for ST (Male/Female) as on 01 August 2026.
• Nationality rule: You must be a citizen of India.
• Domicile rule: Reservation benefits in age, qualifying marks, and fee are only for permanent residents of Bihar. Candidates from outside Bihar will be treated as General category.
