Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the specific educational qualifications, experience, and age limits for each post as of the last date of application.

Educational Qualification and Experience
  • Security Officer: Ex-Servicemen JCO (Subedar or higher rank) OR equivalent rank in other Paramilitary forces with a minimum of 10 years' experience in security. For Short Service Commissioned Officers and Assistant Commandants in CRPF/BSF/ITBP etc., 5 years' experience is required. For Inspectors from Paramilitary Forces, 10 years' experience is needed.
  • Receptionist: A Graduate degree with two years' relevant experience as a Receptionist in a Government, Autonomous Body, or Public Sector Undertaking.
  • Driver: Must have a valid driving licence for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) & Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV). Candidates should have working knowledge of motor mechanism (able to remove minor vehicle defects). At least 3 years' experience driving a motor car is required, along with a pass in 10th standard.
Physical Standards Requirement for Driver Post

Candidates applying for the Driver post must meet the following physical standards:

Age Limit

The minimum age for all posts is 18 years. The upper age limit for each post, as on the last date of application, is as follows:

Age relaxation rules apply as per Government of India norms:

  • OBC (NCL) candidates: 3 years (for posts reserved for OBC category).
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (13 years for OBC-PwBD), subject to a maximum age of 56 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years, or deduction of actual military service.
  • Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women: Up to 35 years (38 years for OBC).

Application Fee

The application fee details are as follows:

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive salary as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level. Approximate total monthly emoluments for Chandigarh are also provided:

In addition to the basic pay, employees will receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits applicable to central government employees. Medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, and Children Education Allowance are also provided as per CSIR rules. Employees are covered under the New Pension Scheme.

Selection Process

The selection process varies for each post:

Security Officer
  1. Physical and Personality Assessment Test: This stage is qualifying in nature.
  2. Written Test:
    • Paper I: Mental Ability and Personality Assessment Test. It will have 100 questions for 100 marks, with no negative marking. Candidates must score a minimum of 30% to qualify.
    • Paper II: This paper covers Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations & Firefighting, and General Awareness (25 marks for each section). This is a subjective test. Candidates must score a minimum of 35% (as fixed by the Selection Committee) to qualify.

The final merit list for Security Officer will be based on performance in Paper II, provided candidates qualify in Paper I and Paper II.

Receptionist

Selection for the Receptionist post will be through a Personality Assessment Test.

Driver
  1. Skill Test: This test is qualifying in nature.
  2. Written Test: This test will have 100 objective-type questions. It covers General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Language (25 questions for each section). Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The total marks for the written test are 300, and the duration is 90 minutes.

The final merit list for Driver will be based on performance in the written test, provided candidates qualify the Skill Test.

Both written tests (for Security Officer and Driver) will be OMR/Computer-based objective examinations. They will be set bilingually in English and Hindi (except for the English Language paper for Driver), and candidates can attempt them in either medium.

Documents Required

  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature (as per prescribed format).
  • Proof of educational qualification(s) from 10th standard onwards.
  • Proof of relevant work experience, if applicable.
