Project Duration: The appointment is for the remaining duration of the project, presently up to 15 February 2027, or until the project terminates, whichever is earlier. Appointment is subject to the release and availability of project funds.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications and experience requirements as per DST rules.

As per DST rules, candidates must have the qualification prescribed for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with two years of research experience.

• Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR
• Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course, selected through:
  • CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE, OR
  • National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies/Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MOE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.

Relevant hands-on research experience in plant molecular biology, molecular cloning, plant tissue culture/transformation, CRISPR/Cas-based plant genome editing, and molecular characterization. Experience with Brassica/mustard or other crop transformation/genome-editing systems will be preferred.

Salary / Pay Scale

Fellowship Amount: Rs. 42,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable under DST/Gol norms, subject to the sanctioned project budget.
