Eligibility Criteria

• Professor: Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject, active research engagement, a minimum of 10 research publications in Peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total Research Score of 120 as per UGC Regulations, 2018. Alternatively, 10 years of teaching experience in university/college or equivalent research experience. An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and significant contributions to knowledge can also apply.
• Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject, a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC), a minimum of eight years of teaching or research experience, and a minimum of seven publications in Peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a total Research Score of 75 as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
• Assistant Professor: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC) in the concerned subject. Candidates must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET or SET-NE in the concerned subject. Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Salary / Pay Scale

The pay scale for the advertised posts will be as per the State University Pay Scales:

• Assistant Professor: ₹57,700 (Basic Pay)
• Associate Professor: ₹1,31,400 (Basic Pay)
• Professor: ₹1,44,200 (Basic Pay)

Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances will be as per the Government of Meghalaya rates.

Selection Process

The selection process involves two stages:

1. Shortlisting of Candidates: Candidates will be shortlisted based on prescribed criteria. For Assistant Professor posts, shortlisting will be based on academic scores as per Appendix II Table 3A of UGC Regulations, 2018. For Associate Professor and Professor posts, shortlisting will be based on verification of minimum eligibility, API Research Score, and evaluation of publications as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulation, 2018.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. The ratio for interviews will be 1:3 for Assistant Professor and 1:5 for Associate Professor and Professor, relative to the number of vacancies. Final selection will be based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview.
