To be considered for the Para Legal Volunteer post, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Groups eligible for application include: Teachers (retired included), retired Government servants, senior citizens, MSW students and teachers, Anganwadi workers, doctors, law students, members of NGOs, women's groups, self-help groups, social workers, and ex-servicemen.
Preference will be given to candidates with basic computer skills, driving skills, or other relevant skills.
The work of Para Legal Volunteers does not come with a salary, remuneration, or wage. PLVs will receive an honorarium based on their engagement. This honorarium amount is fixed by the State Authority, the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), as per prevailing rules.
Interested candidates must apply offline. The application should be in the prescribed Standard Form as published in the Assam Gazette Part-IX. Applicants need to submit their applications along with two passport-sized photographs and self-attested copies of all relevant documents in a sealed envelope.

The selection process will involve shortlisting candidates based on their applications. The decisions of the Selection Committee regarding shortlisting for interviews and final selection will be final. Selected PLVs will be required to undergo a training program as decided by the DLSA Dima Hasao.
No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
