DoT Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, through its Special Director General (Telecom), Maharashtra LSA, has announced a recruitment drive for consultants at the Junior Engineer (Telecom) level. These positions are purely temporary and on a contract basis. Applications are invited from retired government officials and personnel from Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) or research organizations.

The Department of Telecommunications plans to engage three (03) consultants for the post of Junior Engineer (Telecom) [JE(T)]. The number of posts at any station may vary based on actual requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for these consultant positions:

• Must be retired from Central/State Government, Central or State PSUs, or Research organizations.
• Must have held a minimum substantive grade of Level-6 or Level-7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) in CDA Scale or an equivalent IDA Scale, or held an analogous post or above.
• Must be well-versed with the functioning of Central Government Departments/Ministries and aware of Central Government rules and regulations.
• Must be proficient in computer operations and have hands-on experience with MS Office and the Internet.
• Preference will be given to applicants with a background in DoT, BSNL, or MTNL.

Age Limit

The age of the applicant should not exceed 65 years as of the last date for receiving applications.

Remuneration

The monthly consolidated fee or remuneration payable to the engaged retired persons will be determined in accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure's guidelines. The amount of remuneration will remain fixed for the contract period. No annual increment or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided during the contract. Taxes will be deducted as per prevailing rules.

Note: The specific remuneration amount is not detailed in the notification but will be fixed as per DoE OM No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 09.12.2020 for retired Central Government employees and related DoT endorsements for PSU employees.

Selection Process

Suitable candidates will be empaneled on a merit basis. This panel will be valid for a period of 2 years. Engagement of consultants from the empaneled list will be issued for present and future vacancies of JE posts arising in Maharashtra LSA as per administrative needs.

Important Instructions

• The engagement is purely on a short-term contract basis.
• The contract can be extended up to a maximum of 6 terms of 6 months each or up to 65 years of age, whichever is earlier, based on performance and office requirement.
• Candidates can indicate their preference for working at the Pune or Nagpur office.
• The Special Director General (Telecom), Maharashtra LSA, reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
• Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
