To be eligible for the post of State Chief Information Commissioner, candidates must meet the following conditions as per Section 15(5) and 15(6) of the Right to Information Act, 2005:

• Candidates should be persons of eminence in public life.
• They must possess wide knowledge and experience in fields such as law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media, or administration and governance.
• The candidate must be a Citizen of India.
• The candidate should not be of unsound mind, insolvent, or convicted for any crime.
• Candidates must not be a Member of Parliament or a Member of the Legislature of any State or Union Territory.
• The candidate should not hold any other office of profit, be connected with any political party, or be carrying on any business or pursuing any profession.

Age Limit

Persons who have attained the age of 65 years are not eligible for appointment.

Educational Qualification

Salary and Terms of Service
