DRDO ASL Recruitment Overview

The Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL), Hyderabad, part of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has announced recruitment for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) positions. These are temporary, fixed-tenure roles for individuals interested in research for defence applications.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits to be eligible for these positions.

• For JRF (Post No. 01): First Class B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, EEE/ECE/Electronics with a valid GATE Score OR ME/M.Tech in Electrical/EEE/ECE/Electronics with first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
• For JRF (Post No. 02): First Class B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace with a valid GATE Score OR ME/M.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace with first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
• For JRF (Post No. 03): First Class BE/B.Tech in Material Science with a valid GATE Score OR ME/M.Tech in Material Science with first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
• For JRF (Post No. 04): First Class BE/B.Tech in CSE with a valid GATE Score OR ME/M.Tech in Computer Science with first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels.
• For RA (Post No. 05): Ph.D in Electronics OR ME/M.Tech in Electronics with first division and 3 years of research/teaching experience in a reputed institution.

• The maximum age limit is 28 years for JRF and 35 years for RA as on the closing date of the advertisement.
• Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates (up to 5 years) and OBC candidates (up to 3 years) as per Government rules.

Salary / Pay Scale

The monthly stipend is:

• Rs. 37,000/- per month for JRF
• Rs. 67,000/- per month for RA

Residential accommodation will be provided. If accommodation is not available, House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid as per rules.

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit after scrutinizing their marks, percentage, and scores. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview. If a written test is conducted, only those who qualify will be called for the interview.

Documents Required

Important Instructions

• Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview.

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview or for joining.
• The fellowship is not employment and does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.
• The period of service as a research fellow will not be counted for any post in DRDO or other government departments.
