East Central Railway Instructor Recruitment 2026 Announced

East Central Railway (ECR) has released a notification for the recruitment of Instructors/P.Way posts at the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Muzaffarpur. This recruitment is for regular employees within the Engineering Department.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must meet the following conditions:

• Must be regular employees working in the Engineering Department (excluding clerical staff).
• Should be working in the same Grade Pay of 4600 (Level-7) as the applied post. If employees in the same Grade Pay are not available, employees in the lower Grade Pay of 4200 (Level-6) may be considered.
• Must have completed at least 02 years of regular service in a post one Grade Pay below the applied post.
• The Grade Pay received under MACP financial upgradation will not be counted for calculating eligibility.
• Candidates who have previously worked as Instructors in training centers must have completed 01 year after leaving the training center to be eligible to apply again.

Age Limit

As per RBE No. 104/2023 dated 04.09.2023, the maximum age of the candidate should be less than 58 years as of the date of notification issuance.

Salary / Pay Scale

The post is at Level-7 (As per 7th CPC) with a Grade Pay of 4600/- (As per 6th CPC). Additionally, selected employees will be paid 12% of their Basic Pay as Teaching Allowance, as per Railway Board letter No.-E(MPP)2012/3/28 Dated: 06.10.2017.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a Computer Based Test (Objective type written examination) and a Classroom Lecture Trial. The total marks for selection will be 100, comprising 75 marks for the written test and 25 marks for the lecture trial. A minimum qualifying score of 60 percent is required.

There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

How to Apply

Eligible employees should submit their applications through their respective departments. The applications received by the departments will be forwarded to the Personnel Department. The Personnel Department will verify the service details and send the applications along with the letter to the undersigned via e-office by the last date.

If no applications are received in a division, a report stating this fact must be sent.

Important Instructions

• Selected employees will be posted at ZRTI/MFP on a tenure basis for a maximum of 05 years.
• The administration reserves the right to repatriate the employee to their parent unit at any time if their work is not found satisfactory.
• The lien of the employee will be maintained in their parent department/division/railway.
• The cut-off date for calculating age, service period, etc., will be the date of notification issuance.
