Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur, a unit of Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Ltd. (AWEIL) under the Ministry of Defence, has released a recruitment notification for Skilled (Experienced) Tradesman posts. These positions are on a fixed-term contract basis for a period of one year, which may be extended based on factory requirements and individual performance.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 10 vacancies for Skilled (Experienced) Tradesman. The engagement is for a fixed tenure, and selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary. The selection process will be based on the marks obtained in essential technical qualifications and a Trade Test/Interview.
A total of 10 vacancies are available for the post of Skilled (Experienced) Tradesman. The distribution of vacancies across different categories (UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS) will be as per the trade-wise breakdown provided in the official notification. Educational QualificationApplicants must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC)/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or an Engineering Diploma/Degree in a relevant trade/field from a recognized institute. This can be from any Government/Private Organization with affiliation from the Government.
Experience RequiredA minimum of 02 years of experience in a relevant work area is mandatory. Candidates must provide an experience certificate from their employer, detailing the industry, activities performed, types of machines worked on, jobs manufactured, and any programming knowledge or tool selection experience gained.
Age LimitThe age limit for General Candidates is between 18 and 35 years as of the last date for receipt of applications. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government policy:
Candidates from the UR and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 200/-. SC, ST, PWD, and Female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
Selected candidates will be paid a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 31,840/- per month, which includes basic pay and Dearness Allowance (DA). An annual increase of 3% on the Basic Pay is admissible, subject to satisfactory performance. Deductions will be made for unauthorized leave or absence.
The selection of candidates will be based on a 50-50 weightage between the marks of essential technical qualification and a Trade Test/Interview. A minimum of 40% marks is required in each component (Practical/Trade Test and Written Test/Interview). For SC/ST candidates, a relaxation of 5% marks is provided. In case of a large number of applications, GCF may shortlist candidates for the Trade Test based on their essential qualification marks and previous job experience.
