| Educational Qualification | - Chief General Manager/General Manager (Civil): B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Manager (Traction): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics discipline
- Asst. Manager (Rolling Stock): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Power Electronics/Instrumentation or equivalent discipline
- Engineer - Sr. Grade (M&P): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics/Power Electronics/Instrumentation engineering or equivalent discipline
- Engineer - Jr. Grade (Rolling Stock): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics & Communications/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics/Power Electronics/Instrumentation engineering or equivalent discipline

| Required Work Experience | - CGM (Civil): Minimum 23 years (private) OR 20 years (Govt/PSU/Metro), with 17 years at Executive level, 4 years in SAG/GM grade.
- GM (Civil): Minimum 20 years (private) OR 17 years (Govt/PSU/Metro), with 14 years at Executive level.
- Manager (Traction): Minimum 9 years (private) OR 7 years (Govt/PSU/Metro) in relevant areas.
- Asst. Manager (Rolling Stock): Minimum 7 years (private) OR 5 years (Govt/PSU) at Supervisory grade in Rolling Stock.
- Engineer - Sr. Grade (M&P): Minimum 3 years relevant post-qualification experience.
- Engineer - Jr. Grade (Rolling Stock): Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
