Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:

1. A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Economics / Applied Economics from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/GSET.
3. Alternatively, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 are also eligible.
4. Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009, may be governed by existing provisions and exempted from NET/SLET/GSET if they meet specific conditions (Ph.D. awarded in regular mode, thesis evaluated by two external examiners, open viva voce, published two research papers from Ph.D. work with at least one in a refereed journal, and presented at least two papers based on Ph.D. work in UGC/ICSSR/CSIR sponsored conferences/seminars).
5. OR [B] A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE, or ARWU.

Salary / Pay Scale
