Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

• Ph.D. in English Literature, or any related field in the Humanities such as Postcolonial Studies, Culture Studies, etc.
• Must have the ability to conduct research and write in English.
• Ability to engage in literary and/or cultural reading and analysis with theoretical reflection is essential.
• Ph.D. scholars who have submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply. They must submit their provisional/degree certificate within six months of appointment.

Age Limit

Preference will be given to candidates below 35 years of age as on the last date for submitting the application.

Fellowship / Salary

• Candidates awarded with Ph.D. Degree: Rs. 67,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Institute rules.
• Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of Ph.D. Degree/provisional degree: Rs. 35,000/- per month plus HRA. The full fellowship will be restored upon submission of the PhD degree.
