Biometric Verification Thumb impression and photograph are captured during initial document verification and re-verified at every subsequent stage, including at the time of joining.
Written Examination A pen-paper based, one-hour, bilingual exam with 80 objective-type questions covering General English, General Knowledge, Simple Maths, and relevant trade questions. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is no negative marking.
Skill/Trade Test Only candidates who qualify the written exam are called for this test, which is qualifying in nature (not counted for merit).
Merit List Prepared strictly based on marks obtained in the written examination and published on the official Indian Coast Guard website along with further instructions.

Selected candidates for the Engine Driver post will be placed in Pay Level-04 of the pay matrix.
