The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has announced recruitment for the post of Pilot on a contract basis. This is a contract engagement under Scheme-I or Scheme-II. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for these positions.

To be eligible for the Pilot post, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Candidates holding a foreign Certificate of Competency recognized by India must obtain the relevant endorsement from the Directorate General of Shipping.
The required qualification is a Master (FG) Certificate of Competency. Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of sailing experience as Chief Officer or in a higher rank on Foreign Going ships. For candidates with foreign certificates, recognition and endorsement from DG Shipping are necessary.
The maximum age limit for candidates applying for the Pilot on contract basis is 55 years as of the date of entry into pilotage service.
The gross emoluments for the Pilot on contract will depend on the tonnage slabs and category. The remuneration structure is as follows:
JNPA will retain 20% of the monthly package for the first contract, capped at Rs. 3,00,000/-. After the first contract, this deduction is not made. For subsequent contracts, the security amount retained by JNPA is Rs. 1,50,000/-.
Additional remuneration is applicable for extra movements, working on days off/public holidays, and for Senior Pilots carrying out Dock Master duties.
An annual allowance of Rs. 20,000/- or pro-rata is provided for the purchase of PPE.
Candidates will be selected based on an interview. The interview may be conducted in person or online. Candidates will be given 7 days' notice before the interview date.

Applicants already working in Government/Semi-Government organizations/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies must apply through the proper channel and submit an advance copy to JNPA. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be produced at the time of the interview.
