Vacancy Details

A total of 06 vacancies are available for the post of Social Worker Member in Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) in Jharkhand. Specific district-wise vacancy details are provided in Annexure-A of the official notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following basic eligibility requirements as per Jharkhand JJ Rules 2017:

The candidate shall not be less than thirty-five (35) years of age and not more than sixty (60) years of age at the time of appointment.

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• Category I: A degree from any recognized University with a minimum of seven (07) years of experience working with children in the field of education, health, protection, or welfare activities.
• Category II: A practicing professional with a degree in child psychology, psychiatry, sociology, or in the field of law.

• The candidate must not have any past record of violation of human rights or child rights.
• The candidate must not have been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude.
• The candidate must not have been removed or dismissed from government service.
• The candidate must never have indulged in child abuse, employment of child labour, or any other violation of human rights or immoral act.
• The candidate should not be holding a full-time occupation that may prevent them from dedicating necessary time and attention to the work of the JJB.

Salary / Pay Scale

This is an honorary position. The selected candidates will receive a sitting allowance of Rs. 2000 per sitting.

Selection Process

The selection process involves two stages:

1. Stage 1: Screening of Application Forms
   Applications will be screened to check if candidates meet the basic eligibility requirements. Only eligible applications will be considered for further evaluation.
2. Stage 2: Evaluation by Selection Committee
   Shortlisted candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
   • Personal Interaction (50% weightage): Evaluation of aptitude, attitude, domain knowledge, and understanding of child rights and protection issues.
   • Educational Qualifications (25% weightage): Score based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying educational qualification.
   • Work Experience (25% weightage): Score based on the length of relevant experience or professional practice.

The Selection Committee will recommend a panel of names in order of merit to the State Government for appointment. The panel will be valid for one year.

Candidates can apply for the district of their choice. Ensure that the name of the district is clearly written in Column-1 of the Application Form. Also, mention the distance between your residence and the district headquarters in Column-3.

All required information must be provided in the Application Form. Candidates falling under Category I or Category II must fill their details in the respective annexures (Annexure-I.A or Annexure-I.B) of the Application Form. An undertaking as per Annexure-III on a separate non-judicial stamp paper is also required.
