Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Junior Research Fellow position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks (or an equivalent CGPA/grade).
  • Preference: Candidates who have qualified for NET/GATE and/or have relevant research experience will be given preference.
  • Desirable Qualifications: A strong background in Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, and Optics is desirable. Programming skills in Python/Matlab and experience in computational modeling (FEM/FDTD) are also beneficial. Strong scientific writing and communication skills, with evidence of research publications or conference presentations, are an added advantage.

Age Limit

The age limit for candidates is 28 years, as per ANRF norms.

Salary / Pay Scale

The fellowship amount is as follows:

  • For NET/GATE Qualified candidates: Rs 37,000 per month plus HRA for the first two years, and Rs 42,000 per month plus HRA for the third year.
  • For non-NET/GATE qualified candidates: As per ANRF norms.
  • HRA (House Rent Allowance) will be provided as per University norms.
