Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Senior Resident posts:

MBBS with Post Graduate Degree/DNB/Diploma or Post Doctoral Degree (or equivalent) in the concerned specialty from an NMC/MCI recognized university/institute. Candidates should preferably possess DMC registration for the concerned specialty/super specialty. The tenure of the PG Degree/DNB/Diploma or Post Doctoral Degree must be completed, and the result declared before the date of the interview.

In cases where applicants do not possess the aforesaid educational qualification, they will be treated as Non-PG SR and may be appointed for 44 days or until the posts are filled with suitable candidates having PG qualifications.

In specialties with a shortage of candidates or where fresh candidates are not available, candidates who have completed 03 years of Senior Residency but are willing to serve as Senior Residents will also be allowed to appear for the interview. Separate merit lists will be prepared for fresh candidates and those who have completed 03 years of residency. The list of fresh candidates will be exhausted first for appointments.

Age Limit

The age of the Senior Resident should not be more than 45 years as on 01.07.2026.

Relaxation in age will be applicable as per government rules and circulars issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, in case of non-availability of fresh candidates.

Application Fee

There is no fee required for appearing in the walk-in interview.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Matrix Level 11 as per the 7th CPC. The pay scale is Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 208,700 per month, along with other admissible allowances.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the Senior Resident posts will be based solely on a walk-in interview. No waiting list will be prepared; instead, a rank list will be prepared, which will be valid until the next interview notice is published.

Important Instructions

• The tenure of Senior Residents will be for a period of 44 days, or up to a maximum of 3 years including any previous service as Senior Resident on ad-hoc/regular basis in any NMC recognized institution, or until regular Senior Residents join, whichever is earlier.
• No NOC will be issued to a Senior Resident before they have completed at least 44 days of continuous service.
• Leave for attending conferences, seminars, or workshops for more than three days duration at any given date during the residency tenure will not be granted.
• Selected candidates must join within 10 days of the offer letter issuance; otherwise, the offer will be automatically cancelled. No extension for joining will be considered.
• Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in patient care or public interest during emergencies.
• Candidates who have DMC (with PG Degree) or have applied for registration with DMC (with PG Degree) and enclosed the acknowledgment will be allowed to appear in the interview provisionally.
• If the number of applications is very high, the interview may continue on the next working day. Candidates not interviewed on the scheduled date should not leave the venue without informing the Board Members.
• No separate information or call letter will be issued.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
