LRDE DRDO is looking to fill 2 vacancies for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Electronics & Communication Engineering discipline.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Indian citizens. The upper age limit is 28 years as of 01 September 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India rules.

To be eligible, candidates must have:

• A Graduate degree in a professional course (BE / B Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering or related fields, with a first division and a valid GATE score (2024, 2025, or 2026).
• OR
• A Post-graduate degree (ME / M Tech) in a professional course in the relevant discipline, with a first division at both graduate and post-graduate levels.

Acceptable disciplines include:

• Electronics Engg
• Electronics & Communication Engg
• Electronics & Telecommunication Engg
• Electronics & Computer Engg.
• Electronics & Communication Technology
• Electronics & Communication System Engg
• Electronics & Electrical Communication Engg
• Any other relevant discipline with "Electronics" as the main discipline.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) is 28 years as on 01 September 2026. Age relaxations will be provided to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) as per the rules of the Government of India.

Fellowship Stipend (Salary)

Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 37,000/- per month, plus admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a walk-in interview. Candidates may also be required to undergo a written test if necessary, followed by an interview on the same day. Verification of original documents will be done before the written test and interview.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates who wish to attend the walk-in interview must first send an email expressing their willingness to participate. The email should be sent by 25 September 2026. The subject line of the email must clearly state "Application for the post of JRF-ECE discipline".

On the day of the interview, candidates must report between 08:30 AM and 09:30 AM at the LRDE Main Gate Reception. Latecomers will not be allowed to participate.

Documents Required for Walk-in Interview

Candidates appearing for the walk-in interview must bring the following documents:

• Original certificates and testimonials related to qualifications and experience for verification. (Provisional degree certificates are acceptable if all semester mark sheets are available).
• A duly filled application form (as per the provided format) with a recent passport-size color photograph affixed on the top right corner. One self-attested copy of the original documents is also required. If any document is not in English, an English transcript must be attached.
• Original and a photocopy of a Government-issued Photo-identity proof (e.g., Aadhar card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID).
• A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer for candidates currently employed in Government Departments, Autonomous Bodies, or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

Important Instructions

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
• The tenure for the fellowship is initially for 2 years, extendable up to a maximum of 4 years as per DRDO Research Fellow scheme rules.
• No electronic items are allowed inside the LRDE campus.
• LRDE reserves the right to modify or cancel the advertisement or selection process at any time.
• A panel will be prepared for current and future vacancies, valid for one year.
• No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid for attending the interview or joining.
• Misrepresentation or falsification of facts at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Offer of Fellowship does not guarantee absorption in DRDO.
