| Educational Qualification | - 10+2 (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University/Board; OR 10+2 (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution/Board, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
- D.Ed. in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute, with a valid RCI CRR number; OR D.El.Ed. with a recognized qualification (Certificate/Diploma) through an RCI-approved institution for in-service/pre-service general teachers, equivalent to D.Ed. in Special Education, with a valid RCI CRR number.
- 6 months of training in teaching in the cross-disability area of inclusive education. If the proposed programme is not available, this requirement may be dropped, provided the candidate compulsorily undergoes this training as soon as it is conducted.
- Passed the Teacher Eligibility Test-1 (TET-1) conducted by the State Government or any other agency approved by NCTE.
