Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Junior Resident post:

• Must have completed MBBS from a recognized university.
• Must have completed one year of internship not before 2 years as on the date of the interview.
• Must be enrolled with the Delhi Medical Council.
• Candidates must not have completed one year of Junior Residency in any Government hospital in India.
• Post Graduate doctors interested in serving as Junior Residents may be allowed to join if fresh graduates are not available.
• Junior Residents who have completed one year of Junior Residency may be allowed to appear for the interview again and will be offered residency only if no fresh Junior Residents are available. There will be no extension beyond one year of appointment under relaxed provisions.

Educational Qualification

The required educational qualification is an MBBS degree from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates must have completed one year of internship which should not be before 2 years from the date of the interview. Registration with the Delhi Medical Council is mandatory.

Age Limit

The age limit for candidates applying for the Junior Resident post is as follows:

• General Candidates: 30 years
• SC/ST Candidates: 35 years
• OBC Candidates: 33 years

Relaxation in Age Limit:

• Under relaxation provisions, the upper age limit can be extended to 40 years in place of 30 years.
