OPTCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has released a notification for the engagement of Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade Apprentices. This recruitment drive aims to fill 100 apprentice positions across various disciplines for a training period of one year.

Vacancy Details

A total of 100 vacancies are available for engagement as apprentices. The number of vacancies for each trade or discipline may change, either increasing or decreasing, based on the corporation's requirements.

Note: For ITI Trade Apprentice, the total number of vacancies is 33 for Electrician and the remaining vacancies are distributed among other ITI trades. The exact distribution for ITI Electronic Mechanic and other ITI trades is not specified.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following conditions to be eligible for the OPTCL Apprentice positions:

• Nationality: Must be an Indian national belonging to the state of Odisha.
• Age Limit: Candidates should not be less than eighteen years of age as on 01.08.2026.
• Educational Qualification: Must possess the required educational qualification as per Table-A in the official notification. The qualification must be from a recognized Board, Council, University, or Institute through a regular full-time course.
• Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the minimum physical standards as prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 and its amendments.
• Prior Training/Experience: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 or have job experience of one year or more are not eligible.
• Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing for the essential qualifying examination are not eligible to apply.
• Passing Certificate: Candidates must possess the passing certificate or final year mark sheet of the required qualification as on 01.07.2026.
• Gap Period: The gap between the date of joining apprenticeship training and the passing date of the essential qualifying examination should not be more than 3 years. Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination during the Academic Year 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26.
• Registration: Candidates must be registered on the NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) or NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) portal. Their bank account must be seeded with their Aadhaar Number for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Educational Qualification Details

The required educational qualifications for different apprentice disciplines are as follows:

Note: For Non-Engineering Apprentices, graduation in non-Engineering disciplines like BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, or equivalent will be preferred.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least eighteen years old as of 01.08.2026. There is no upper age limit specified in the notification.

Salary / Stipend

Apprentices will receive a stipend during their training period. The stipend amounts are as follows:

• Degree Engineering Apprentice, Diploma Technician Apprentice, Degree Non-Engineering Apprentice: ₹ 12300 per month.
• Diploma Technician Apprentice: ₹ 10900 per month.
• ITI Trade Apprentice: ₹ 9600 per month.

Note: OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend for Degree Engineering, Diploma Technician, and Degree Non-Engineering apprentices. The remaining 50% will be paid by BOPT through DBT.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of academic merit. OPTCL may also conduct a written test or interview as required. The decision of OPTCL management will be final in all matters related to eligibility, selection, and cancellation of the process.

1. Register on NAPS/NATS Portal:
   • Degree Engineering (Electrical, IT, Telecom) and Diploma (Electrical, Telecom, Civil) apprentices, as well as Degree Non-Engineering (HR, Finance, Law) aspirants, must register on the NATS 2.0 portal.
   • ITI Trade apprentices must register on the NAPS portal.
   • Ensure your Aadhaar is linked with your bank account for DBT.
2. Apply on OPTCL Website: After obtaining your registration/enrollment number from NATS/NAPS, apply on the OPTCL website:
   • Visit www.optcl.co.in.
   • Click on the 'HRD Section'.
