The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), a unit of the Department of Space, Government of India, has announced a traineeship program for the post of Telescope Operator Trainee at its Mt. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational qualifications and age limits to be eligible for the Telescope Operator Trainee position.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have one of the following qualifications with 60% or more marks:

  • M.Tech. in Physical Sciences, Astronomy, Applied Physics, or any other allied streams/specializations.
  • B.Tech. in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Production, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or any other allied branch.
  • M.Sc. in Physical Sciences, Applied Physics, Electronics, Astronomy, Instrumentation, or any other allied streams/specializations.

The age limit is set as follows, calculated as of 15 October 2026:
