Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Must possess a Bachelor or Master Degree in Law from a recognized University.
• Must be registered with the Bar Council of India.
• Should have at least ten years of experience in dealing with legal matters, preferably service matter cases or cases related to educational institutions.
• Only Law Officers, Retired Judges, District Attorneys, Additional District Attorneys (serving or retired from Centre/State Government/Senior Judiciary Service/Public Sector Undertaking) can apply.
• No disciplinary proceedings should be pending against the applicants.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate should be less than 62 years at the time of application. NOT VERIFIED

Salary

The selected candidate will receive a fixed honorarium of Rs. 1,00,000/- per month. This is a lumpsum amount without any other allowances.

Application Fee

The application form can be obtained by paying Rs. 100/- in cash at the University Enquiry and Information Centre. If applying by post, a demand draft for the form cost is required. NOT VERIFIED

How to Apply

Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline. The application form can be obtained in person from the University Enquiry and Information Centre located at the University Main Gate by paying Rs. 100/-. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from the University website. If downloading the form, a demand draft of Rs. 100/- should be sent along with the application.

Applications can also be requested by post. To get the form by post, send a self-addressed envelope of size 25x10 cm with Rs. 65/- postage stamps affixed, along with a demand draft for the form cost, to the Incharge of the Enquiry and Information Centre. The name of the post should also be written on the envelope.

Completed applications must reach the office of the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), Punjabi University, Patiala by October 5, 2026.

Important Instructions

• Candidates must have passed Punjabi as a subject in Matriculation or its equivalent examination as per University rules.
• Reservation will be as per Punjab Government rules approved by the University Syndicate. Only residents of Punjab are eligible for reservation.
• It is not mandatory to call all eligible candidates for an interview; only merit-based candidates will be called.
• The University reserves the right to fill or not fill the posts and the number of vacancies can be increased.
• No travel or daily allowance will be given to candidates. The cost of the form/demand draft will not be refunded.
• Candidates currently in service must send their applications through the proper channel. A copy can also be sent directly to the University with necessary certificates, mark sheets, and other documents.
• Incomplete and late applications will be rejected.
