Vacancy Details

Sainik School Kapurthala is filling vacancies for the following posts:

• Lab Assistant (Chemistry): 01 post (UR - Unreserved)
• Lab Assistant (Physics): 01 post (SC - Scheduled Caste)
• General Employee (GE): 04 posts (03 UR - Unreserved, 01 ST - Scheduled Tribe)

The Lab Assistant positions are on a contractual basis for 11 months, which may be extended up to 03 years based on performance review. The GE posts are regular.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified educational and age requirements for each post.

• Educational Qualification: Intermediate in Science with Chemistry or Physics as one of the subjects, or an equivalent qualification in the respective subject.
• Age Limit: Between 21 to 35 years as on 01 September 2026.

• Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent.
• Age Limit: Between 18 to 50 years as on 01 September 2026.

Desirable Qualifications for Lab Assistant: Experience in teaching in a residential school, proficiency in teaching the concerned subject, fluency in English, knowledge of computer applications, higher qualifications, and achievements in NCC/Sports/Games/extra-curricular activities are preferred.

Desirable Qualifications for GE: Understanding of Punjabi and Hindi languages. Experience working in residential schools like Military/Sainik Schools is advantageous. For specific GE sub-categories (Cooks, Carpenter), experience in cooking at a reputed hotel/residential school or in the carpenter trade is required.

Application Fee

Candidates need to pay a non-refundable demand draft as an application fee:

• General / OBC Candidates: Rs. 500/-
• SC / ST Candidates: Rs. 250/-

The demand draft should be drawn in favour of 'Sainik School Fund Account'.

Salary / Pay Scale

The salary structure for the posts is as follows:

• Lab Assistant (Contractual): Rs. 40,800/- per month consolidated. This includes Level 4 Cell 1 starting at Rs. 25,500/- plus 60% DA.
• General Employee (GE - Regular): Level 1 Cell 1 starting at Rs. 18,000/- per month, plus DA, Transport Allowance, and Medical Allowance as per rules. Rent-free accommodation may be provided if available.

Note: No salary will be paid to teaching staff during summer/winter vacations (70 days in an academic year). For contractual staff, one month's salary will be kept as a security deposit, deducted in three equal installments from the first three months' salary.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria.
2. Written Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test. The list of candidates for the written test will be posted on the school website.
3. Skill / Practical Test: Based on performance in the written test, candidates will be selected for a skill or practical test.

Original educational and professional qualification certificates must be produced for verification during the selection process.
