Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational and eligibility requirements:

A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Social Sciences, English, Science Education, Sociology of Education, Education development and policy, Foundations of education, or Psychology of Education from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

A. Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET. Alternatively, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) and their amendments are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Specific conditions apply for Ph.D. candidates registered before July 11, 2009.

B. A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE, or ARWU.

• Ph.D. in Social Science / English / Education and allied subjects.
• Experience in teaching at the university level.
• Experience in using quantitative and/or mixed methods research.
• Experience of working in large scale and multi-partner research projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment, in diverse teams, self-driven, lead a small research team, attention to detail, ability to manage time, and openness to learning.
