The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the final result for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2025. This is a very important update for all candidates who appeared in the written exam and the subsequent personality test. The result was declared on 7th August 2026, bringing an end to the long wait for many hopefuls.
UPSC conducted the written examination for Assistant Commandants (Group A) posts on 3rd August 2025. Following this, eligible candidates were called for the Personality Test, also known as the interview, which took place from 4th May 2026 to 29th May 2026. The final merit list is now available, based on the combined performance in these stages.
A total of 350 candidates have been recommended for appointment to the prestigious Assistant Commandant positions. These selected candidates will be joining various central armed police forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). This selection marks a significant milestone in their careers, offering them a chance to serve the nation.
Candidates who appeared for the examination should check their results without delay. It is crucial to verify your roll number in the official merit list PDF released by UPSC. The official website, www.upsc.gov.in, is the only reliable source for this information. Always download the result PDF directly from the UPSC portal to ensure you have the correct and verified document.
It is also important to note that UPSC has maintained a consolidated Reserve List containing 164 candidates. These candidates are ranked in order of merit below the last recommended candidate in their respective categories. This reserve list is prepared as per the examination rules.
The final selection and appointment of recommended candidates are subject to certain conditions. For instance, the outcome of pending writ petitions related to this examination in various High Courts across the country might affect some appointments. Additionally, the candidature of 126 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, meaning their final status depends on the completion of due verifications. Claims regarding reservation status (EWS/OBC/SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen) are also subject to verification by the concerned authorities. Appointments will be made based on the number of available vacancies and only if candidates fulfill all prescribed eligibility conditions mentioned in the Examination Rules.
UPSC has also stated that the individual marks of candidates are expected to be made available on the official website within 15 days of the result declaration. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the UPSC website for this update. Checking your result promptly and understanding the next steps is vital for all successful candidates. We wish all the recommended candidates the very best for their future service.
