Educational Qualification & Experience Project Research Scientist-II (Medical)Candidates must have one of the following:
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS with three years of post-qualification experience.
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS with a Post Graduate Degree (MD/MVSc/MDS/MPH) or an equivalent integrated PG degree.
- MBBS/BVSc/BDS with PhD.
Preferred Experience: Experience in NCD-related research projects and work in disease modelling will be preferred.
Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)Candidates must have one of the following:
- A Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with three years of post-qualification experience, OR PhD.
- For Engineering/IT/CS graduates: A Four-Year Graduate degree with three years of post-qualification experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience working on R/Python or other languages for developing web applications, simulations, or dashboards relevant to the project will be preferred.
Note: All educational qualifications and experience must be from recognized institutions. Experience gained after completing the minimum essential qualification will be counted. Experience from reputed national/international organizations will also be considered.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for both posts is 40 years as of the cut-off date (12th October 2026).
Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects), and ex-servicemen as per Central Government instructions. Age concession for services rendered in research projects is also admissible for experienced individuals.

Salary / Pay Scale
The consolidated monthly salary for the posts is as follows:
- Project Research Scientist-II (Medical): Rs 80,000 + 20% HRA (up to Rs 96,000/-)
- Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): Rs 67,000 + 20% HRA (up to Rs 80,400/-)
Consolidated salaries may vary, and no other allowances will be provided beyond the agreed salary.
Selection Process
The selection process involves the evaluation of application forms, followed by a written test and/or interview.
- Written Test Threshold: A written test will be conducted if the number of applicants for a single post exceeds 30.
- Qualifying Score: A minimum of 40% for UR/OBC/EWS and 35% for SC/ST is required to qualify in the written test.
- Shortlisting for Interview (if Written Test is conducted): A maximum of 5 candidates will be shortlisted based on descending order of written test scores. If more than 5 candidates achieve qualifying scores, the top 5 will be selected. If fewer than 5 qualify, all qualifying candidates will be shortlisted.
- Tie-Breaker: In case of tied written test scores, the candidate with the earlier date of birth will be ranked higher.
- Final Selection: The final selection will be based on the combined score of the written test and interview if a written test is conducted. If no written test is required, selection will be based solely on interview scores.
- Shortlisting Criteria (if applicable): In case of a large number of applications, shortlisting may be based on relevant experience exceeding the minimum duration, higher educational qualifications, or publications in PubMed-indexed journals.
- Screening Written Test (if required): The test will consist of 50 MCQs covering topics like NCD Epidemiology, Health Economics, Cost-Effectiveness Analysis, Disease Modelling & Simulation, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, and General Aptitude.
- Interview: Questions will focus on NCD Epidemiology, Health Economics, Cost-Effectiveness Analysis, Disease Modelling & Microsimulation, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, and Project Management.
