Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for the Assistant Professor post:

Option A:

• A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in any subject from an Indian University/Institute, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC (SLET/SET).
• OR candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Specific conditions apply for candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009.

Option B:

• A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE, or ARWU.

Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% in Master's level marks is allowed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled categories for eligibility and good academic record.

Desirable Qualification: Qualified UPSC Civil Services (Prelims)/(Mains) Examination.
