C-MET Recruitment 2026: Project Personnel Vacancies Announced

The Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) has released a recruitment notification for temporary project personnel. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits for each post. Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India rules, but there is no age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates applying for Unreserved (UR) positions.

• Research Associate (RA)/ Project Scientist: PhD in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / RF and Microwave Engineering/ Embedded Systems or related field) OR PhD in Sciences (Physics, Materials Science, Electronics, Photonics, Quantum Technologies, or a related discipline). Desirable: M.Tech/M.Ε. in Microwave/Electronics/ Microelectronics/VLSI. Minimum 2 years of experience in research and development or advanced engineering roles in relevant domains.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Bachelor's degree in B.Tech /Β.Ε. (Electronic/ Electrical Instrumentation / RF Microwave Engineering/ Communication) OR Master's degree in Physics /Electronics or equivalent. Desirable: M.Tech /Μ.Ε. in Microwave/Electronics / Microelectronics/VLSI Microwave/Antenna/ Communication PCB Design and circuit design is preferable.
• Project Associate: Bachelor's degree in B.Tech /Β.Ε. (Electronic/ Electrical Instrumentation / RF Microwave Engineering/ Communication) OR Master's degree in Physics /Electronics or equivalent. Desirable: M.Tech/M.Ε. in Microwave/Electronics/ micro- electronics/VLSI and Microwave/Antenna/ Communication/ PCB Design and circuit design is preferable. (This position is offered if NET/GATE qualified candidates are not available for JRF).
• Project Assistant: Bachelor's degree in science OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology or equivalent.

The age limit for each position is as per ANRF norms on the closing date of the advertisement. Specific age limits mentioned in the notification are:

• Research Associate (RA)/ Project Scientist: 35-40 years
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate: 28-30 years
• Project Assistant: 28 years

Age as on the closing date of the advertisement is the determining factor.

Salary / Pay Scale

The emoluments for the positions are as follows:

• Research Associate (RA)/ Project Scientist: ₹58,000/- + HRA + 1 month basic towards medical
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000/- + HRA + 1 month basic towards medical
• Project Associate: ₹30,000/- + HRA + 1 month basic towards medical
• Project Assistant: ₹20,000/- + HRA + 1 month basic towards medical

Note: The emoluments of all positions are subject to revision.

Selection Process

Short-listed candidates will be called for an interview. The interview is held at the discretion of the competent authority. Candidates are required to bring their original documents for proof of age, educational qualification, research experience, caste, and no objection certificate (where applicable) at the time of the interview.
