The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has announced vacancies for senior legal positions. Applications are invited from experienced legal professionals for leadership and specialist roles within the commission's legal department. These positions are to be filled on a deputation basis.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and experience requirements for the posts. The mode of appointment is deputation from Central/State/UT Government Departments, Statutory/Autonomous/Constitutional/Cooperative/Local Govt./Judicial Bodies, and Public Sector Undertakings.

For all the posts, a Law Degree from a recognized University or Law School is essential.

• Executive Director (Law): Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis OR with 2 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-13A OR with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-13. Desirable experience includes handling legal matters in a senior position in Central/State Government/PSU involving administrative, commercial, and contract law, and experience in drafting statutes/legislation.
• Joint Director (Law): Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis OR with 2 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-12 OR with 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-11. Desirable experience includes regulatory laws, power sector knowledge, contract/administrative law, and handling litigations.
• Deputy Director (Law): Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis OR with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-10 OR with 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-8 OR with 8 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-6. Desirable experience includes handling legal matters in a middle-level position in Central/State Government/PSU involving administrative, commercial, and contract law, and experience in drafting statutes/legislations.

For candidates working in PSUs or other organizations with IDA/VDA pay scales, their pay scale will be equated with the CDA pattern pay scales.

The maximum age limit for deputationists is 56 years. The age limit is subject to general guidelines issued by the Central Government/Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

Compensation and Benefits

Candidates appointed on deputation will receive compensation and benefits as per DERC (Management & Development of Human Resources) Regulations, 2001, and applicable terms. This includes:

• Pay Scale: As per the Pay Matrix Level specified for each post (Level-14 for Executive Director, Level-13 for Joint Director, Level-11 for Deputy Director).
• Lease Accommodation: Provided as per entitlement.
• Staff Car Facility: For the Executive Director post.
• Transport Allowance: For all level positions.
• Training Opportunities: National and international training programs, conferences, and seminars.
• Other Facilities: Medical allowance/facility, telephone facility, internet facility, newspaper/periodicals, and children education allowance.

Appointments on deputation are initially for a period not exceeding three years, extendable up to a maximum of six years.

Selection Process

The selection process for these posts is based on deputation. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience. More stringent criteria may be applied for shortlisting candidates to be called for interview.

3. Upload relevant documents to substantiate essential qualifications. This includes the last 03 months' salary slips, ITR Statements, and FORM-16 for verification.
4. Candidates serving in Government/PSU/Autonomous Body/Statutory Body/Local Body/Judicial Body/Corporations must submit an Undertaking as per Annexure-I.
5. Applicants working in government services or PSUs are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from their employer at the time of the interview, if not uploaded earlier. The NOC should also indicate vigilance clearance.

Incomplete applications or applications submitted in a different format are liable to be rejected.
