The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, has announced recruitment for research positions. Applications are invited for the posts of Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Junior Research Fellow (JRF), and Project Assistant (PA) to work on a DRDO-sponsored research project.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits for each post.
Educational Qualification- Senior Research Fellow (SRF) & Junior Research Fellow (JRF): B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Physics/ Electronics/ Applied Physics/ Optics/ Photonics with First Division and NET/GATE qualification. Alternatively, M.E./M.Tech in Physics/ Electronics/ Applied Physics/ Optics/ Photonics with First Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level. A minimum of 02 years of research/teaching/industrial experience in relevant fields is mandatory for SRF.
- Project Assistant (PA): Bachelor's degree in any discipline with proficiency in computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Experience in procurement and office file management is preferred.
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Not to exceed 32 years.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Not to exceed 28 years.
- Project Assistant (PA): Not to exceed 28 years.
The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, Women & PwBD candidates and 03 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.
Salary / Pay Scale
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): ₹42,000/- + 30% HRA (with NET/GATE) or ₹33,000/- + 30% HRA (without NET/GATE).
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000/- + 30% HRA (for 1st & 2nd year), ₹42,000/- + 30% HRA (for 3rd year) (with NET/GATE). If without GATE/NET qualification: ₹30,000/- + 30% HRA.
- Project Assistant (PA): ₹22,000/- + 30% HRA.
The positions are purely temporary for 03 years or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications and then called for an interview. The interview can be conducted in person or via video conferencing. Based on suitability, candidates will be selected. If an SRF candidate is not found suitable, a JRF will be recruited in their place.

Interested and eligible candidates should send a brief, signed bio-data, the application form (available on the DIAT website), proof of date of birth, and mark sheets and degree certificates for B.E./B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech to the email ID of the Principal Investigator. The email subject should be titled "Application for SRF/JRF/PA".
Candidates must bring their original applications along with all necessary educational and supporting documents, project reports, and publications to the interview.
Important Instructions
- The offer of SRF/JRF/PA positions does not grant any right for absorption in DIAT, Pune.
- Prescribed educational qualifications and experience must be obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions/Industries.
- If a large number of applications are received, the Project Director may limit the number of candidates called for interview based on qualifications and experience above the minimum requirement.
- Selected candidates are required to join duty immediately upon receiving the offer letter.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
