Vacancy Details

GMRC is looking to fill one vacancy for the post of Chief General Manager / General Manager (Corporate Planning).

The number of posts may change based on GMRC's assessment of requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements:

• For Contract Basis: 57 years as on 18th September 2026.
• For Deputation Basis: 58 years as on 18th September 2026.

Age limit is not applicable to GMRCL employees. However, age relaxation will not apply to officials re-employed in GMRCL after superannuation.

• Graduate engineering in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Communications discipline from a Government recognized University/Institute.
• Officers from Railway having service in IRSE/IRSME/IRSSE/IRSEE officials in NFSAG/SAG grade are preferable.

Candidates should have proven experience in coordination work at an apex level with Government authorities and Central/State PSUs, and experience in project monitoring across various verticals. Experience in large-scale railway or metro infrastructure projects will be preferred.

• For applicants in IDA scale/PSUs: 20 years of executive experience (10 years relevant work experience). Must have at least 4 years of experience in an equivalent IDA pay scale or above. For those in consolidated pay, minimum 4 years in GM grade with a minimum CTC of ₹2,50,000 per month.
• For applicants in CDA scale: 20 years of executive experience (10 years relevant work experience). Must have at least 4 years of experience at Pay Matrix Level 14 NFSAG grade or equivalent.
• For candidates from private industries: 23 years of executive experience (10 years relevant work experience). Minimum CTC of ₹2,50,000 per month.

• For applicants in IDA scale/PSUs: 17 years of executive experience (10 years relevant work experience). Must be working in an equivalent IDA pay scale or have at least 2 years in an IDA pay scale of ₹2,25,000 per month or above. For those in consolidated pay, minimum CTC should be ₹2,25,000 per month in GM grade.
• For applicants in CDA scale: 17 years of post-qualification executive experience (10 years relevant work experience). Must be at pay matrix level 14 (SAG/NFSAG) or equivalent, or working for at least 2 years at level 13/13A or equivalent under the 7th CPC.
• For candidates from private industries: The minimum CTC should be ₹2,25,000 per month.

The experience is post-qualification.

Salary / Pay Scale

For contract basis appointments, the pay will be as per the IDA scale of ₹120000-280000.

For deputation basis, the remuneration will be as per the terms and conditions of deputation.

Other allowances, perks, and privileges will be applicable as per GMRC rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve the following stages:

1. Personal Interview: Candidates will be interviewed to assess their knowledge, skills, experience, aptitude, and suitability.
2. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified before the interview.
3. Medical Examination: As per the category prescribed for the post.
