Eligibility

Explanation of Eligibility Conditions:

• Who Can Apply: This recruitment is strictly for Divyang (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates. If you do not fall under the specified disability groups (A, B, C, D & E) as outlined in the vacancy details, you are not eligible to apply. This is a special drive, not a general recruitment.
• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens. If you hold another nationality as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, you may also be eligible.
• Educational Qualification: You need a strong technical background. This means either a Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in any Engineering or Technology discipline, *except* Civil Engineering, from a recognized university. Alternatively, if you have a Diploma in Engineering or Technology (again, excluding Civil Engineering) from a recognized institution, you must also possess at least two years of practical experience as a technical worker in government service, a government undertaking, or a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013. This experience should be as a technical worker, not as a general labourer.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic computer application knowledge is a mandatory requirement. While you can apply without the certificate at the time of application, you must be able to produce it before your final appointment. It's advisable to obtain this certificate if you don't have one already.
• Language Proficiency: You must have a good understanding and working knowledge of either Gujarati or Hindi, or both, as these are the official languages of the state.

Age Limit

Understanding Age Calculation and Relaxation:

• If you are a Divyang candidate from the General category, male applicants receive a 10-year relaxation, making the maximum age limit 45 years. Female applicants in this category receive a 15-year relaxation, also setting the maximum age at 45 years.
• For Divyang candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), male applicants receive a 15-year relaxation, and female applicants receive a 20-year relaxation. In both cases, the maximum age limit is capped at 45 years.

Application Fee

Payment Method and Refund Policy:

• The fee is refunded only to candidates who actually appear for the preliminary examination. If you pay the fee but do not attend the exam, you will not receive a refund.
• If your application is rejected by GSSSB for any reason, the fee once paid is non-refundable.

Selection Process

Explanation of Each Stage:

• Stage 1: Written Examination (CBRT/OMR Objective Test)
  The primary stage of selection is a written examination. This will be an objective type test, meaning it will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Depending on the board's decision, it could be a Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) or an OMR-based test. This exam is a single-stage process, meaning there won't be multiple written exams. Your performance in this test will be crucial for shortlisting.
• Stage 2: Document Verification
  Candidates who perform well in the written examination and meet the qualifying standards will be provisionally shortlisted. Following this, they will be called for document verification. In this stage, you will need to present all your original certificates and documents (such as educational qualifications, age proof, caste certificate if applicable, disability certificate, computer knowledge certificate, etc.) for verification. It is essential that all information provided in your online application matches your original documents. Any discrepancy could lead to disqualification. The number of candidates called for document verification will typically be around two times the number of available vacancies, subject to category-wise merit.

Exam Pattern

Key Details of the Exam Pattern:

• Part A: General Subjects
  This section covers general aptitude and awareness. It includes Reasoning & Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Constitution of India, Current Affairs, and Comprehension. The comprehension section will specifically have 5 marks for Gujarati and 5 marks for English. This part assesses your general knowledge, analytical skills, and language proficiency.
• Part B: Technical Subject
  This part will focus on the technical subject matter directly related to your engineering or technology educational qualification. This is where your core technical knowledge will be tested.

Documents Required

• Recent Passport-sized Photograph: A clear, recent photograph as per the specifications mentioned in the online application portal (usually light background, clear face).
• Signature: A scanned image of your signature.
• Identity Proof: A valid government-issued identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport.
• Educational Qualification Certificates:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (excluding Civil) mark sheets and degree certificate.
  • OR Diploma in Engineering/Technology (excluding Civil) mark sheets and diploma certificate.
  • Experience Certificate: If applying with a Diploma, a certificate proving at least 2 years of practical experience as a technical worker in a government service, government undertaking, or a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013.
• Disability Certificate (Divyang/PwD Certificate): A valid certificate issued by a competent medical authority, clearly stating your type and percentage of disability, and confirming you belong to one of the specified disability groups (A, B, C, D & E). This is critical as it's a special recruitment drive for PwD candidates only.
• Caste/Category Certificate: If applying under a reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), a valid caste/category certificate issued by the competent authority of Gujarat State.
• Age Relaxation Medical Certificate: For Divyang candidates seeking age relaxation, a medical certificate from the Superintendent/Civil Surgeon as prescribed under the Health and Family Welfare Department circular dated 15 December 2025.
• Computer Knowledge Certificate: Proof of basic knowledge of computer applications as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. While you can apply without it, you must submit it before appointment.
• Domicile Certificate: Proof of domicile in Gujarat, if applicable for claiming reservation benefits.
• Other Relevant Certificates: Any other certificates or documents as specified in the detailed official notification or required for specific claims (e.g., Ex-servicemen discharge book).
