Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements as of 20 October 2026:

• Bachelor of Library and Information Science or its equivalent degree from a Government-recognized university.
• Preferably a Degree in Law.
• A certificate regarding basic knowledge of computer as prescribed by the State Government.
• Sufficient knowledge of English, Gujarati, and Hindi languages.

• A minimum of 02 years of experience working in a well-organized library after obtaining the degree.

Age Limit

The age limit for candidates applying for these posts is as follows:

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 37 years

Age relaxation will be provided to eligible categories as per government rules:

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on a competitive examination comprising two stages:

1. Main Written Examination (Objective Type - MCQs): 100 Marks. This exam is tentatively scheduled for 29 November 2026. It will cover subjects like Library Science, English & Gujarati Language, General Studies, Basic Legal Knowledge, and Basic Computer Application. There will be negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% for PwBD candidates) to qualify.
2. Viva-voce Test (Oral Interview): 40 Marks. This interview is tentatively scheduled for December 2026 / January 2027. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for this stage.

The final selection will be based on the combined merit of both stages.
