Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits to be considered for these roles.

• Research Associate: A PhD degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ or allied disciplines of Life Sciences.
• Senior Research Fellow: A Master's degree in Genetics /Plant Breeding/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Seed Science & Technology /Biotechnology/ or allied disciplines of Life Sciences, with a 4/5 years Bachelor's degree. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences and a 3 years Bachelor's degree plus a 2 years Master's degree must have qualified NET and possess 2 years of research experience as per ICAR guidelines.

• Research Associate: The upper age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules (5 years for SC/ST & women, 3 years for OBC).
• Senior Research Fellow (SRF): The upper age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules (5 years for SC/ST & women, 3 years for OBC).

The age will be calculated as on the date of the interview.

Salary / Pay Scale

The emoluments for the selected candidates will be as follows:

• Research Associate: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA per month.
• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA per month for the 1st and 2nd year, and Rs. 42,000/- + HRA per month for the 3rd year, as per ICAR norms.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in a walk-in interview. Original documents will be verified at the time of the interview.

Interested and eligible candidates are required to attend the walk-in interview. They must bring a duly filled and signed application form along with all necessary original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies for verification.

Documents Required

Candidates must bring the following documents to the interview:

• Degree/provisional degree certificate.
• NET/GATE/equivalent certificate (where applicable).

Candidates currently employed must also produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their present employer, if applicable.

Important Instructions

• The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, for one year or until the project completion, whichever is earlier.
• Selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment or continuation in ICAR/IARI after the project ends.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Candidates must declare any near or distant relatives employed in ICAR/IARI.
• Submission of false information or documents will lead to disqualification.
