Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Junior Research Fellow position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Qualification: A post-graduate degree (BS-MS, MSc, M.Tech) in Atmospheric Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• Mandatory Requirement: A national-level examination qualification such as National Eligibility Test (NET)/CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF/GATE, or any other Fellowship is mandatory.
• Experience: Prior hands-on experience with specific analytical techniques like chromatography, spectroscopy, and/or X-Ray Fluorescence is required. Candidates should be familiar with the principles, sample preparation, operation, calibration, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and data interpretation of at least one of these techniques.
• Desirable Qualifications: Experience in aerosol measurement techniques, factor analysis (chemical mass balance, positive matrix factorization for atmospheric aerosols), and programming skills in C/C++, Java, or Python are preferred.

For the Lab Assistant role, candidates need:

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Physics, or other Science disciplines with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute.
• Desirable Qualifications: Experience with PM filter weighing, aerosol laboratory chemical analysis using IC (Ion Chromatography), and OCEC analyzer is preferred. Data analysis of aerosol measurements will be an added advantage.

Fellowship / Salary

The fellowship amounts for the positions are as follows:

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA per month
• Lab Assistant: Rs. 20,000 + 20% HRA per month

Duration

The positions are initially for a period of 1 year. The duration may be extended based on the candidate's performance.
