IIT BHU is recruiting for 2 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) posts. These positions are specifically for the MoRT&H-funded research project.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Junior Research Fellow post at IIT BHU, candidates must meet the following educational and other requirements:
Educational Qualification- The applicant must have a First Class in BE/B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10-point scale) is required in both degrees.
- GATE qualification is mandatory.
- OR
- Candidates with an M.Tech/M.E./M.S./Master's degree having a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 and above (on a 10.0 point scale) or equivalent from specific institutions may be exempted from the GATE requirement. These institutions include:
- Indian IITs/NITs/CFTIs/State or Central funded universities/Top NIRF 100 (Overall or Engineering category)
- Foreign (QS Ranking) Institutions/Universities
- M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering & Transportation Engineering.
- M.Tech. Project/Dissertation in Dynamic Properties of Soil & Pavement materials (preferably on waste and locally available materials).
- Applicants with research experience and hands-on expertise in dealing with geotechnical and transportation engineering laboratory equipment as well as software will be preferred.
- Candidates should have good management, communication, and writing skills.
- Willingness to work efficiently in a team environment, be self-motivated, and work under a variety of challenging research conditions.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years as on the date of advertisement (21st August 2026).
Age relaxation for Female, SC, ST, OBC, and Physically Handicapped candidates will be provided as per Government of India norms.
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected Junior Research Fellows will receive a fellowship of Rs. 37,000/- per month.
Additionally, HRA (House Rent Allowance) will be provided as per Institute rules if accommodation inside the campus is not available.
