The selected candidate will work on theoretical and numerical aspects of multipartite quantum cryptography. This includes tasks like quantum circuit and network simulation using Python, QuTiP, Qiskit, and MATLAB/Mathematica, along with security proofs and manuscript writing.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Project Associate – I position, candidates must meet the educational qualification and age limit requirements as specified below:

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

• Master's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Theoretical Physics, Quantum Information, Optics, Photonics, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• OR B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech. in Engineering Physics, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or an equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institute.

Candidates with a valid GATE score or CSIR-UGC NET (including LS) or selection through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Agencies (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, IIT, IISc, IISER) will be given preference.

• Strong foundation in Quantum Information, Quantum Mechanics, and Linear Algebra.
• Proficiency in Python programming and numerical simulation libraries (QuTiP, Qiskit, NumPy, SciPy) or MATLAB/Mathematica.
• Good analytical, mathematical problem-solving, and scientific communication/writing skills.

The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years as on the closing date of application (August 31, 2026).

Age relaxation of up to 5 years will be provided for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Women candidates as per Government of India norms.

Salary / Emoluments

The selected Project Associate – I will receive a monthly fellowship and HRA as follows:

• Remaining Period (Months 25–30): Rs. 42,000/- per month + 20% HRA (Total: Rs. 50,400/- per month) upon upgradation to PA-II / as per ANRF and IIT Indore project guidelines.

PhD Opportunity

The selected candidate will be strongly encouraged to register for the Ph.D. program at IIT Indore. This will be as per institute norms and subject to fulfilling admission criteria. If selected for the Ph.D. program, the fellowship will be extended for the Ph.D. duration as per institute norms.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on an interview.
