Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  • Full-time B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from a Central or State Institute of Hotel Management (CIHM/SIHM/PIHM) affiliated to NCHM&CT/UGC/AICTE/Government of India.
  • BBA/MBA (Culinary Arts) from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism.
  • B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science from Government recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
  • M.B.A (Tourism and Hotel Management) from Government recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
Age Limit

The upper age limit as on 01.09.2026 is as follows:

  • Up to 28 years for candidates with no experience.
  • 28 to 30 years for candidates with 1 year of experience.
  • 30 to 35 years for candidates with 2 years of experience.
  • *35 years for UR (Unreserved) category.

Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Serviceman applicants as per Government guidelines:

  • SC/ST applicants: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC applicants: 3 years relaxation
  • PwBD applicants: 10 years relaxation
  • Ex-Service Men: Up to the extent of service rendered in defence plus 3 years.

Remuneration and Allowances

Total CTC (Cost to Company): Rs 30,000/- per month (including statutory deductions).

Additional allowances are applicable:

  • Daily Allowance: Rs 350/- per day for on-duty on-board in trains.
  • Lodging Charges: Rs.240/- if night stay is involved at outstation.
  • National Holiday Allowance (NHA): Rs 384/- per National Holiday (if worked).
  • Medical Insurance: Rs. 1,400/- per month (up to 35 yrs) and Rs 2,000/- per month (36 – 50 yrs). Reimbursement is subject to submission of valid documents.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on a walk-in interview. The selection will be based on the credentials and performance in the personal interview. An offer of engagement will be issued to suitable candidates in order of merit, subject to verification of antecedents.

In addition to the shortlisted candidates, names of 22 candidates will also be placed on a Reserve Panel.

Engagement is also subject to being found medically fit.

How to Apply

Candidates need to fill out the application form provided with the notification completely. The completed application form, along with original documents, one set of attested copies of required documents, and two recent passport-size photographs, must be submitted at the venue of the interview for verification.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.

  • Proof of experience (if any)
  • Proof of Date of Birth (10th Certificate)
  • Proof of Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS/Ex.SM) - OBC-NCL candidates must submit the certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
  • Other relevant documents as specified.

Important Instructions

  • This engagement is purely on a fixed-term contract basis and does not entitle any candidate to claim regular employment in IRCTC.
  • The engagement is provisional until satisfactory verification of antecedents.
  • If any information provided is found to be false or incorrect, the contract is liable to be terminated.
  • The contract can be terminated by giving one month's notice by either side.
  • If performance is not satisfactory, the contract may be terminated with 15 days' notice.
  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
  • Candidates working in Government/PSUs must apply through proper channel or submit an NOC at the time of the interview.
  • IRCTC reserves the right to cancel or amend the advertisement or selection process.
