Eligibility

Exemption from NET/SLET/SET is possible for PhD holders under UGC 2009 or 2016 Regulations (conditions apply, including regular mode, thesis evaluation by two external examiners, open viva, published research papers, and conference presentations). A PhD from a foreign university/institution ranked in the world's top 500 (QS, THE, or ARWU) is also accepted. NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master's disciplines where these tests are not conducted by UGC/CSIR/similar bodies. For Assistant Professor (Music): Same Master's-with-NET/PhD route OR Recognition as a traditional and professional artist of high standing, having studied under noted/reputed traditional masters, holding "A" grade artist status with AIR/Doordarshan, with the ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations. |
