  • Essential: Graduation in Animal Husbandry / Horticulture or a Master's degree in Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Desirable: Experience in handling herds of farm and large animals, including their day-to-day upkeep, in research organizations or reputed farms.

The age limit is calculated as on the closing date for receiving applications (11 September 2026).

• Scientist B: Maximum 35 years
• Farm Manager: Maximum 30 years

Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India guidelines. The competent authority may relax age limits, qualifications, and experience for suitable candidates.

Application Fee

The application fee varies by post and candidate category. PWD and departmental candidates are exempt from paying the fee.

The fee can be paid in two ways:

1. Through a crossed Demand Draft (DD) drawn on any nationalized bank, valid for at least 3 months, in favour of "National Institute of Animal Biotechnology, Hyderabad" payable at Hyderabad.
2. Directly through the payment link provided on the application portal.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive salary as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations:

• Scientist B: Pay Level 10
• Farm Manager: Pay Level 6

These positions also carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees posted in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Selection Process

The selection process for NIAB Recruitment 2026 will involve the following stages:

2. Written Test / Skill Test / Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or skill test and/or interview, as decided by the competent authority.

Candidates called for the written test, skill test, or interview will be reimbursed single second-class rail fare from their actual place of journey or normal residence to Secunderabad Railway Station, upon production of relevant travel documents.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates must apply online through the NIAB website. Follow these steps:

2. Register on the website using a valid email ID to create a username and password. If already registered, log in with existing credentials.
3. Before starting the application, prepare soft copies (PDF/JPEG format) of the required documents, including a recent passport-size photograph, all educational certificates, experience certificates, caste/category certificates (if applicable), NOC from your employer (if applicable), and any other testimonials.
4. Fill out the online application form carefully, uploading all necessary certificates in the relevant sections.
5. Pay the application fee. If paying via Demand Draft, ensure it is drawn as specified.
6. If paying by Demand Draft, you must also send the DD by post. On the backside of the Demand Draft, write the Advertisement Number, your Name, Category, and Post Applied for. Send the DD in an envelope super-scribing "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF [Your Post Name]" to the following address:
