NIT Rourkela is recruiting for the following project positions:

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 02 Posts
• Project Associate (PA): Will only be considered if JRF is not found suitable.

The tenure of the post for JRF is 04 years.

Educational Qualifications and Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
  • A Post Graduate degree in basic science OR
  • A Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
    • Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
    • Selection process through National Eligibility Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DBT, DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER, NISER, etc.
• Project Associate – I (PA):
  • Four years Bachelor's Degree in Natural or Agriculture Science / Master's Degree in Natural or Agriculture Sciences / BVSc / B. Pharm OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for their final examination are eligible to apply, provided they submit their qualifying degree result by November 30, 2026.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The upper age limit for applying is 30 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Age relaxations are applicable as follows:

Salary and Pay Scale

The fellowship amount for the positions is as follows:
