Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the NRCB Apprentice positions:
Educational Qualification- Graduate Apprentices: A Degree in Biotechnology, Botany, Life Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Biochemistry, Chemistry, BCA, or Computer Science. The degree must be regular, full-time, and granted by a statutory or Deemed University approved by UGC.
- Technician Apprentices: A Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture. The diploma must be regular, full-time, and granted by a statutory or Deemed University approved by UGC.
- Candidates must have passed their Graduate or Diploma examination only in the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
- Mandatory registration on the MHRD NATS Portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) is required before applying.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 are NOT eligible.
- Candidates with one year or more of prior work experience are also NOT eligible.
Age Limit

Preference will be given to children of employees of the host establishment (NRCB). This preference is given in the order of children of deceased employees, medically invalidated employees, superannuated employees, and then serving employees.
A final rank list will be prepared category-wise (General / SC / ST / OBC) after certificate verification. This verification will be conducted jointly by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) and officials of ICAR – NRC for Banana, Tiruchirappalli.
