Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is open only to regular employees of East Central Railway and Rail Wheel Plant (RWP), Bela. There is no minimum service requirement. However, employees who have resigned or transferred from East Central Railway are not eligible. Personnel from RPF and RPSF cannot apply. Employees cannot apply for the same post they are currently working in. The required qualification must be obtained by 15 October 2026 and recorded in the employee’s service register.

Educational Qualification

• Assistant Loco Pilot: Matriculation or SSLC with ITI or completed Act Apprenticeship in a prescribed trade; OR Diploma or Degree in specified engineering disciplines.
• Technician Posts: Matriculation or SSLC with ITI or completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade.
• Technician Signal and Tele: Matriculation or SSLC with relevant ITI or Act Apprenticeship; OR 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
• Junior Engineer Posts: Three-year Diploma or relevant Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil or other specified engineering disciplines.
• Depot Material Superintendent: Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline.
• Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Station Master: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Goods Train Manager: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Senior Clerk: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent, with computer typing proficiency in English or Hindi.
• Section Controller: Graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk: 12th pass or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks. The 50% marks requirement is not applicable for SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, ex-servicemen, and candidates with qualifications higher than Class 12.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as of 1 January 2027.

Reserved category candidates applying against unreserved vacancies will not receive category-based age relaxation.

Selection Process

Senior Clerk Typing Test: Candidates must achieve a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. This test is qualifying in nature, and marks will not be added to the merit list.
