Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
For Level-2 (Group 'C') Posts:

- OR Matriculation (10th Pass)/SSLC plus ITI in a relevant trade (Recognised by NCVT/SCVT).
- OR Matriculation (10th Pass)/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in a relevant trade.
For Level-1 (Erstwhile Group 'D') Posts:
- Matriculation (10th pass) OR ITI or its equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Scouting-Guiding Qualifications (For both Level-2 and Level-1 posts):
- President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
- Must have been an active member of a Scouts Organization for the last 05 years.
- Should have attended two events at National Level OR All Indian Railways' Level AND two events at State Level.
Note: Candidates with provisional certificates of President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder are provisionally allowed to participate, as per Railway Board instructions dated 10.04.2024.
Age Limit
Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.
- For Level-2 (Group 'C') posts: 18 to 30 years.
- For Level-1 (Erstwhile Group 'D') posts: 18 to 33 years.
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable as per government rules:
- SC/ST Candidates: 05 years
- OBC (NCL) Candidates: 03 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to the extent of service rendered in Defence plus 03 years (provided they have put more than 06 months' service after attestation).
- Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 05 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (13 years for OBC (NCL), 15 years for SC/ST)
- Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated: 35 years (UR), 38 years (OBC NCL), 40 years (SC/ST)
- Serving Railway Staff, casual labour, substitutes (minimum 3 years service): 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC NCL), 45 years (SC/ST)
- Employees in Quasi-Administrative offices of Railway: Up to length of service, maximum 05 years.

Selection Process
The selection will be based on a total of 100 marks, comprising:
- Written Examination: 60 marks. This will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) for Level-2 and Level-1 posts separately. The exam will have 40 objective-type questions (40 marks) and 1 essay-type question (20 marks) related to Scouting/Guiding and General Knowledge. 1 mark for each correct answer, 1/3 mark deduction for incorrect answers. No negative marking for the essay question.
- Marks on Certificates: 40 marks. This includes marks for participation/service in National Events, State Events, specialized courses, and District Rallies.
Candidates equal to 5 times the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification after the written examination.
