Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SCCL Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualification
  • Engineering Graduates: Must hold a Degree in the relevant Engineering branch.
  • Non-Engineering Graduates: Must hold a Degree in BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, or B.Pharmacy.
  • Diploma Holders: Must hold a Diploma in the relevant Engineering branch.

Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination during the last five years, i.e., in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.

Stipend / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a fixed stipend during their one-year training period:

  • For Engineering & Non-Engineering Graduates: Rs. 12,300/- per full payable muster month.
  • For Diploma Holders: Rs. 10,900/- per full payable muster month.

The stipend is shared equally, with 50% contributed by SCCL and 50% by BOAT (Southern Region) / NATS 2.0, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The government's share will be credited directly into the apprentice's Aadhaar-enabled bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Selection Process

The selection of apprentices at SCCL will be based on the following criteria:

  • Merit: Selection will be based on inter-seniority with reference to the year of passing the qualifying examination and merit within that year.
  • Priority: Priority will be given to "SCCL/Retired Employee Children" and "PAF/PDF" candidates as per existing practices.
  • Reservations: Local, Caste, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservations will be followed as per SCCL's policy. Vacant slots in reserved categories may be diverted to the open category.
  • Skills Preference: Candidates with knowledge of AI, Systems, MS Office, and MS Excel will be given preference.

The scrutiny of hard copy applications will be completed by 25 August 2026, and the selection process for the first batch is expected to begin in the first week of September 2026.

How to Apply

Important Conditions for Applicants

Candidates applying for the SCCL Apprenticeship should be aware of the following conditions:

  • The apprenticeship training period is for one year (12 months only) under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • The offer of Apprenticeship does not guarantee any right of employment in SCCL after the training period.

  • Any suppression of facts by the applicant will lead to disqualification at any stage of the selection process or termination even after joining.
