Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education. A minimum of 60% marks is required.

Higher qualifications like B.Tech or M.Sc are not considered for this post.

Essential: Two years of post-qualification experience or training as a Ship Draftsman or Draftsman in a Shipyard, Engineering Company, Ship Design Company, Government Company, or Semi-Government Company.

Desirable: Experience in 3D modeling software like Tribon, CADMATIC, or design experience in CAD software.

Experience acquired after the date of passing the qualifying examination will only be considered. The period of post-qualification experience will be reckoned as on 08 October 2026.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as on 08 October 2026. This means applicants should be born on or after 09 October 1991.

Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen will be as per Government of India guidelines, subject to a maximum age of 45 years.

Application Fee

An application fee of ₹400/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) is required.

The fee can be paid online using Debit card, Credit card, Internet Banking, Wallets, or UPI.

Exemptions: Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

Salary / Pay Scale

The post is in the W6 grade with a scale of pay of ₹18000-3%-64520.

The monthly emoluments as on date are approximately ₹31,926, which includes:

• Basic: ₹18,000
• DA (At present 55.7%): ₹10,026
• HRA (10%): ₹1,800
• Fuel reimbursement: ₹1,600
• Washing Allowance: ₹500

Other benefits like National Pension System, Gratuity, etc., will also be applicable as per rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve two phases:

1. Phase I: Objective Type Offline Test (70 marks, 75 minutes duration)
2. Phase II: Practical Test (30 marks)

The total marks for selection will be 100.

• The test will have two parts: General and Discipline related.
• Sections include General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Discipline related topics.
• There are 50 questions in total, with each question carrying one mark.
• There is no negative marking.

• Candidates who qualify in Phase I and meet eligibility requirements will be shortlisted for certificate verification.
• Shortlisted candidates will then be called for the Phase II Practical Test.
• The minimum pass mark for both Phase I and Phase II is 50% of the total marks for each test.
• Rank lists will be prepared based on the aggregate marks secured in both tests.
